Collver takes Checkered Flag and New Track Record at Delaware

(Delaware, ON) The 2018 Transaxle Heavy Duty Truck Parts Super Stocks at Delaware Speedway is proving to be the most competitive as it's ever been. Each year, the teams get closer in parity as each season comes along. 2018 is no exception.

Saturday May 12, the teams were back in action for event number two of the season. The night for Trevor Collver didn't come easy, as the team ran into an electrical issue and was forced to miss the opening run of practice as repairs were being made. The team managed to get the car practiced and prepared for Qualifying. Each division at Delaware participates in a group qualifying format and on this night, Trevor Collver put down a lap that no other Super Stock has ever run.  Collver set a new track record of 20.161, beating the previous record of 20.605. A combination of a new tire and front-end suspension rules package assisted in the blistering pace.

Feature Race One of the Twin 25 Format had Collver line up 4th with the inversion draw. The front four battled tooth and nail for the duration of the race. Collver fighting a tight condition in his car finished right where he started, in fourth.
In the second Main event, Collver lined up in the 8th position and methodically made his way to the top 3 when the race leaders tangled coming off turn two on lap 7. Collver narrowly escaped and inherited the lead.
Collver was able to pull away on the restart and led by five car lengths over second place Matt Robblee. The race remained caution free after the initial yellow and Collver was left uncontested for the remaining laps to capture the checkered flag for the first time in 2018.
